Born and raised in New York City, Betsy began her design career, after graduating from The State University of New York at Binghamton as a Junior Catalog Designer, at AGA Graphics, and quickly became an Art Director at Hearst Magazines' in-house advertising agency. She moved on to become the Design Director for Condé Nast's SELF Magazine where she ran the art department for 8 years. In 2005, Betsy went on to form her own company, BLD Inc., in order to broaden her scope of work and take on diverse new clients. Since then she has taken on numerous creative projects including branding and logo design, advertising and promotion and invitation design. Clients have included all 20 Hearst titles including Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, O, The Oprah Magazine...to name a few. She has worked on projects in every category including fashion, beauty, retail, automotive and luxury, for major brands such as Ford, Revlon, Unilever, Infiniti, Hearts on Fire, Revlon, Maybelline, L'Oréal, Nivea, Suave, Prestique, Sears, Macy's and many more.

Based on her experience as a Creative Design Director Betsy knows that successful design takes careful planning and passion appropriate to each project. She has established a particular design sensibility and understands how it can be applied to different brands: whether it is funky, hip, sophisticated, upscale, corporate, conservative, mass...the solution must ultimately fit that brand's strategy, vision and voice.
